A Co-operative Preschool
Our cooperative parents are the pillars of our preschool. Parent support the faculty in the classroom, support committees, maintain the classrooms, raise fund to support ouf preschool's mission and volunteer as needed.
Responsibilities of the Cooperative Parent or Guardian
Time Commitment
Families are scheduled to co-op in the classroom based on how many days their children are enrolled. This usually amounts to 3 or 4 times a semester. Every family plays a part on all preschool committees. Committees are a vital support to our school. Our committees include fundraising, celebrations, and maintenance.
Who can Co-op?
Our preschool welcomes approved adults such as parents, grandparents, and guardians who thave been cleared by the Church office as co-opers. All adults are required to have Pennsylvania child abuse history clearances and criminal record check on file at the Church office prior to co-oping in the classroom. FBI fingerprint clearances must be done if the volunteering adult has not live in PA for the preceding ten years.
Co-oping in the Classroom
Our teachers will share the day's plan when the co-oping parent arrives. Throughout the day, gently guide the children as they participate in the routine of the school day. Tap into your own childhood and share your interests, skills, and favorite stories. Co-oping is an opportunity to observe your child in the classroom; however the co-oper's primary responsibility is to assist the teacher in classroom management, to lead activities, and assist in cleaning up at the end of the day.
